Dear Music Lovers,
Our 81st season is now well underway.
Our fourth concert on 11 August was held in the church at our new location in Longueville, the perfect venue for this heavenly music, where harpists Verna Lee and Azumi Lehmann of Australis Harp Duo presented Tales from Afar. The rich and warm tones of this ancient instrument filled the church and delighted the audience with repertoire from ancient eras to modern times.
Our fifth concert on 13 October will be our annual link with Sydney Eisteddfod for the Alf and Pearl Pollard Memorial Awards. The 10 best instrumentalists aged 13-15 have been selected from the 2026 Sydney Eisteddfod events. This is always an evening with extraordinary talent revealed and their performances assessed by an audience vote.
Our final concert for 2026 on 24 November will be Le Basque Trio : Ben Oxley – Tenor, Robert Johnson – Horn and Cheryl Oxley – Piano with a programme highlighting the expressive dialogue that these instruments and the human voice can create together, titled Beethoven and Friends.
